This policy explains what personal data this website processes, why, and what rights you have.

1. CONTROLLER

This website is operated by Pompeii: Shadow of Vesuvius (“we”, “us”), the controller of your personal data. For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected].

2. DATA WE PROCESS

Wishlist. When you join the wishlist, we store your email address, the time you signed up and the consent text you accepted. We use your address only to send news about the game and its release. Before storing it, we check that its domain can receive email. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Bot protection. The wishlist form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish people from automated programs. It loads only when you open the form and processes technical data about your browser and connection, including your IP address, solely for this check. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Analytics. With your consent, we use Google Analytics to measure visits and how visitors find the website. It sets cookies and processes usage data such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location. Without your consent, it is not loaded. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Hosting and security. The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver it and protect it from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses and request details. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page visits without cookies and without identifying visitors. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website and understanding its reach (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies and local storage. Analytics cookies are set only after you consent. Your privacy choice is kept in your browser’s local storage so that we do not ask again. You can change it at any time under Privacy settings at the bottom of the home page; withdrawing consent removes the Google Analytics cookies.

3. RECIPIENTS AND INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

We use Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting, wishlist database and bot protection) and, only with your consent, Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics) as processors acting on our behalf. The wishlist database is located in the European Union. Cloudflare and Google may process data in the United States; such transfers rely on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your personal data.

4. RETENTION

We keep your wishlist address until you withdraw your consent or until we stop sending news about the game, whichever comes first. Google Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months. Technical data processed by Cloudflare is kept only as long as needed to operate and secure the service.

5. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You may withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal. To exercise these rights, contact [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state where you live or work.

We do not use your personal data for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

6. CHANGES

We will update this policy before the website processes personal data in any other way.
